At 12:00 noon on September 26, the first phase of Xi'an Metro Line 10 officially began initial operations.

The first phase of Xi'an Metro Line 10 runs from Jingshangcun Station in Weiyang District in the south to Zhaohui Square Station in Gaoling District in the north, generally following a north-south alignment with a total length of 34.4 kilometers.

During construction, the project team consistently adhered to full-process control, actively carried out technical research, and implemented precise measures to overcome multiple challenges, including the construction of retaining piles and deep foundation pit excavation under water-rich sand layer geological conditions at stations, and shield tunneling that passed alongside the bridge piles of the Zhengzhou-Xi'an and Datong-Xi'an high-speed railways and underneath Weiyang Lake and surrounding facilities. Using the cantilever form traveler construction technique, a safe and stable working platform was provided by the form traveler equipment over the Ba River, enabling workers to carry out refined operations in a safe and stable environment and to move quickly to required positions. Using bridge rotation construction technology, the metro bridge crossed over the operating North Ring Line of the Xi'an railway hub: in a safe area parallel to the existing railway direction, the metro bridge was first cast, then a "skylight window" period was requested for rotation, and finally the "turning and crossing" was achieved, marking the first such case in the history of Xi'an urban rail transit construction. Innovative techniques and methods were adopted, including harmless and resource-based treatment of shield tunnel muck and the freezing method for constructing cross-passages between tunnels under water-rich sand layer geological conditions, ensuring the smooth completion of all construction tasks.

At the same time, the project team adapted measures to local conditions to create distinctive station styles. The standard station decoration style visualizes the "distinctness and integration" of the Jing and Wei Rivers; featured stations were individually designed by extracting surrounding environmental and cultural elements. Shuilu Station is known as the "best spot" for photographing the Jing-Wei River road-rail combined bridge. Shuilu Station incorporates the light and shadow of flowing water at sunset into its design, extracting dynamic curve elements and the gradient colors of the sunset for integrated arrangement, showcasing a perfect combination of modern architecture and natural beauty.

The first phase of Xi'an Metro Line 10 is an important measure for Xi'an to advance its "northward expansion" development. Once the line opens, it will connect the main urban area with the Weibei region, which is of great significance for optimizing the city's overall spatial layout and promoting coordinated and integrated regional development.
