On September 29, the left tube of the Yeheshan Tunnel—the longest tunnel on the Shaanxi Linyou–Famen Temple Expressway, built with the participation of China Railway 18th Bureau Group—was successfully holed through, marking important progress in the project's construction.

The Yeheshan Tunnel construction site
The Yeheshan Tunnel is the only extra-long tunnel on the Linfa Expressway. It is designed as a curved separated tunnel, with a left tube 8,130 meters long and a right tube 8,135 meters long. According to reports, the tunnel passes through the Anshuzhuang and Yeheshan provincial nature reserves, where ecological and environmental protection requirements are strict and construction standards are high. During construction, the team adopted advanced tunnel construction technologies such as hydraulic blasting, ultrasonic welding of waterproof boards, and automated monitoring and measurement of surrounding rock, effectively overcoming unfavorable geological challenges such as fractured surrounding rock, developed fracture zones, and abundant groundwater, and safely passing through the nature reserves.
Once completed, the Linfa Expressway will form an expressway link connecting the Hebao Expressway and the Lianhuo Expressway, and create a tourism loop linking attractions such as the Famen Temple and the Jiucheng Palace. It is of great significance for further optimizing the expressway network layout, ensuring the outbound transport of agricultural and sideline products and coal, and promoting the high-quality economic and social development of Baoji, Xianyang, and other places.
