Since the beginning of this year, Shawan City has treated water conservancy project construction as an important livelihood project, adopting multiple measures to fully advance water conservancy project construction and inject strong momentum into the high-quality development of the city's economy.
On September 23, at the project site of the changed portion of the small and medium-sized river governance project along the section from Sidaoban to Zhangjiazhuang Village in Dongwan Town on the Ningjia River in Shawan City, large machinery and construction personnel were seen working closely together and carrying out construction operations in an orderly manner, presenting a busy scene.
This water conservancy project involves the new construction of 0.57 km of flood control embankment, 2 water diversion sluices and ancillary works, with planned project funding of 3.7 million yuan and a flood control standard of a 10-year return period. To ensure project quality and completion on schedule, the supervision party has actively implemented the quality responsibility system.
Zhang Banggui, on-site supervisor of the project from Xinjiang Wanhua Construction Engineering Management Co., Ltd., said: "In terms of quality control during construction, we cover two important parts: one is patrol inspection of the construction site, and the other is on-site supervision (side-station supervision) of important project parts, including the entire concrete pouring and the dam body filling process, all of which require our supervisors to carry out on-site supervision. After the project is completed, we will also conduct post-event quality control to ensure that our project quality meets the design requirements."
It is understood that the construction of the changed portion of the small and medium-sized river governance project along the section from Sidaoban to Zhangjiazhuang Village in Dongwan Town on the Ningjia River in Shawan City will benefit villagers and farmland in 13 natural villages in Dongwan Town, while also ensuring the safety of towns and infrastructure within the river basin.
Yang Bo, a cadre of the Construction Management Section of the Shawan City Water Conservancy Bureau, said: "After the project is completed, it will greatly reduce the flood control burden on villages along the line in Dongwan Town, while protecting the safety of 3,000 people and 45,000 mu of farmland in 13 natural villages downstream; the two newly built water diversion sluices can ensure that cross-river channels are used for irrigation during non-flood periods, with an irrigated farmland area of up to 2,000 mu."
