Recently, the Gaofukou Tunnel, the first over-one-kilometer tunnel on the Hebei section of the Xiong'an-Xinzhou High-Speed Railway, was successfully holed through.

In the high-standard construction of Xiong'an New Area, transportation has taken the lead. According to the plan, Xiong'an New Area will build a "four vertical and two horizontal" high-speed railway network and a "four vertical and three horizontal" external expressway network connecting the whole country.

Recently, the Gaofukou Tunnel, the first over-one-kilometer tunnel on the Hebei section of the Xiong'an-Xinzhou High-Speed Railway, was successfully holed through, marking a new breakthrough in the construction of the Hebei section of the Xiong'an-Xinzhou High-Speed Railway and laying a solid foundation for subsequent ballastless track operations and the completion and opening of the entire line as scheduled in 2027. The construction of the "four vertical and two horizontal" high-speed railway network in Xiong'an New Area is once again accelerating.

The Xiong'an New Area-Xinzhou High-Speed Railway is an important part of the Beijing-Kunming Corridor of the national "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network and an important horizontal corridor of the "four vertical and two horizontal" regional high-speed railway network in Xiong'an New Area. The main line has a total length of 342 kilometers, a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, and 13 stations across the entire line, with bridges and tunnels accounting for as much as 88%.

Among them, the Gaofukou Tunnel, located in Fuping County, Hebei Province, passes through the eastern foothills of the Taihang Mountains and has a total length of 2,344 meters. The geological conditions along the route are complex and variable, and the construction technology is highly difficult, so it has been listed as a key and difficult control project of the entire line.

During the construction process, the project team dynamically optimized the construction organization and strictly controlled the safety step distance of tunnel construction. During construction, they strictly followed the guidelines of emphasizing geology, advancing pipe forepoling, strict grouting, short advance, strong support, rapid closure, frequent monitoring, and rapid feedback.

It is understood that in the face of complex geological conditions, the project team made full use of advanced geological forecasting and surrounding rock measurement technologies, conducted advance assessments, dynamically adjusted support parameters, controlled the convergence and deformation of surrounding rock, and strived to achieve "adapting to rock changes and preventing and controlling risks." In addition, they innovatively applied "intelligent tunnel robots," ensuring the safe breakthrough of the tunnel as scheduled.

After the Xiong'an-Xinzhou High-Speed Railway is completed and opened to traffic, the history of Fuping County, an old revolutionary base area, having no railway access will come to an end. This is of great significance for further improving the high-speed railway network in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and promoting exchanges between the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration and the Jinzhong urban agglomeration.

It is understood that in 2024, Hebei will continue to promote smooth internal and external connectivity in Xiong'an New Area, further improve the comprehensive external transportation network, advance the construction of Xiong'an New Area as a pilot area for building China into a country with strong transportation, and create national demonstration models in areas such as smart expressway management and operation, green transportation development, and new business forms and models.
