On September 16, at the construction site of the Mozhai Wujiang Grand Bridge on the Chongqing-Hunan Double-Track Expressway in Hanjia Subdistrict, Pengshui Miao and Tujia Autonomous County, Chongqing, workers were laying asphalt pavement on the bridge deck, marking that the bridge is about to be fully completed and opened to traffic.

The Mozhai Wujiang Grand Bridge is a controlling project of the entire line, with a total length of 708 meters, a maximum pier height of 216 meters, a bridge tower height of 44 meters, and the top of the cable tower about 320 meters above the Wujiang River water surface, making it Asia's tallest low-tower cable-stayed bridge. The Chongqing-Hunan Double-Track Expressway project has a total mileage of 280 kilometers and consists of three sections: Chongqing Banan to Chongqing Pengshui, Chongqing Pengshui to Chongqing Youyang, and Chongqing Wulong to Daozhen, Guizhou, with an average bridge-tunnel ratio of 80%. After the project is completed and opened to traffic, it will effectively shorten the distance between southeastern Chongqing and the central urban area of Chongqing, effectively alleviate congestion on the existing Chongqing-Hunan Expressway, and have far-reaching significance for further developing tourism resources along the route, promoting the integration of transportation and tourism, and driving sustained and rapid economic and social development along the route.
