A batch of projects to deepen "Belt and Road" intellectual property cooperation is about to be launched→

　　Reporters learned today from the China National Intellectual Property Administration that a batch of projects to deepen "Belt and Road" intellectual property cooperation is about to be launched.

　　According to the introduction, these practical cooperation projects cover four intellectual property fields: patents, trademarks, geographical indications, and copyright. From five major aspects—business cooperation, value enhancement, capacity building, user services, and people-to-people exchanges—they will promote the formation of nearly 20 practical cooperation projects and outcomes, further advancing "Belt and Road" intellectual property cooperation in depth and substance, building a new pattern of "Belt and Road" intellectual property cooperation, and promoting the high-quality development of intellectual property undertakings in jointly built countries.

　　In terms of business cooperation, a pilot program for accelerated patent examination among patent examination institutions of "Belt and Road" countries will be carried out, and a pilot program for geographical indication protection and cooperation targeting Belt and Road partner countries will be launched.

　　In terms of value enhancement, inclusive promotion of green patent technologies under the "Belt and Road" initiative will be carried out, outstanding cases of two-way intellectual property layout in Belt and Road partner countries will be identified, and a "Belt and Road" geographical indication brand promotion campaign will be conducted targeting jointly built countries.

　　In terms of capacity building, the "Belt and Road" intellectual property master's degree education program, intellectual property training programs for Belt and Road partner countries, and online training programs for capacity improvement of intellectual property practitioners in Belt and Road partner countries will continue to be implemented.

　　In terms of user services, a patent information search resource handbook for Belt and Road partner countries and a trademark application and registration guide for Belt and Road partner countries will be compiled, patent information dissemination and utilization training will be carried out for small and medium-sized enterprises, and courses on internet search and inquiry services of the China National Intellectual Property Administration will be released.

　　In terms of people-to-people exchanges, cooperation among patent agency service institutions in Belt and Road partner countries will be deepened, and the intellectual property protection mechanisms of "Belt and Road" e-commerce platforms will be promoted and improved.

　　In addition, the meeting will release a batch of research reports and handbooks, including the "China and Belt and Road Partner Countries Patent Insight Report (2013–2023)," the "Introduction Handbook to China's Intellectual Property Legal System," "How to Apply for and Protect Designs in China," the "English Handbook on How to Protect Trademarks in China," and the "Guidance Handbook on Applying for Protection of Foreign Geographical Indication Products in China," to provide guidance and services for innovation entities and the general public in China and jointly built countries.
