The construction site of the Yang'antang section of the follow-up project of the Hangjiahu North Drainage Channel (Nanxun section) has recently been bustling with activity, with the rumbling of machinery echoing continuously. "At present, the project has fully entered the sprint stage of construction," said Qian Liming, the person in charge. After the project is completed, it will effectively enhance the flood control and drainage capacity of the region, while strengthening the connectivity of river and lake water systems and improving the water ecological environment of the region's rivers and lakes.
As the first provincial key water conservancy project in Nanxun District, Huzhou City, the follow-up project of the Hangjiahu North Drainage Channel (Nanxun section) has an estimated total investment of 1.809 billion yuan, and has secured 533.3 million yuan in additional government bond funds. The construction content mainly includes the comprehensive improvement of 11 rivers in the central urban area of Nanxun, 6 lake and pond improvement projects, and 6 flood control sluice station projects. The project construction involves 5 civil engineering bids, 1 equipment bid, and 1 informatization bid.
Implementing key water conservancy projects is an important means of strengthening flood and drought disaster prevention, optimizing water resource allocation, and improving the water ecological environment. A reporter learned from the Huzhou Municipal Water Resources Bureau that in order to advance water conservancy infrastructure construction, localities across Huzhou have concentrated their efforts to accelerate construction progress, and the progress bars of multiple key water conservancy projects have been refreshed.
"Since the beginning of this year, the city's water conservancy system has focused on project construction, concentrated efforts and integrated resources to tackle difficulties, and continuously advanced the progress of key water conservancy project construction," said relevant personnel from the Construction Division of the Huzhou Municipal Water Resources Bureau. As of August, the city's 13 key water conservancy projects had completed an annual investment of 2.17 billion yuan, with a completion rate of 71.8%, ahead of the scheduled progress.
At the construction site of Section I of the flood control and drainage project in the startup area of the South Taihu New Area, construction is likewise in full swing. This section mainly involves the upgrading of 7.9 kilometers of embankments along Daqian Port and the construction of 9 new gate structures. "About 5 kilometers of embankments along Daqian Port are already under construction. In addition, 3 sluice stations have been basically completed, and the main structures of 2 more sites have also been completed," said Wu Jie, the project manager.
It is reported that the flood control and drainage project in the startup area of the South Taihu New Area is located in the Changdong area of the new area and is a provincial key water conservancy construction project planned and implemented during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, as well as a provincial "Thousand Projects, Trillion Yuan" key project. The project has an estimated total investment of more than 1.6 billion yuan and has secured 500 million yuan in additional government bond funds. The construction content mainly includes embankment upgrading, gate sluice station construction, water system improvement, internal water circulation sluice stations, and ecological water pretreatment facility construction.
"The entire project officially started construction in October last year. We specially established a project task force and hold regular meetings every week and every month to efficiently advance project policy handling and engineering construction," Qian Bing, the person in charge, told the reporter. At present, a quarter of the total project workload has been completed on site, and the main construction is expected to be completed in 2025.
