Maisong Section Left Line

On September 6, the shield tunneling machine for the right line of the section from Huishi Road Station to Maimianqiao Station (referred to as the "Huimai Section") and the shield tunneling machine for the left line of the section from Maimianqiao Station to Songjiacao Station (referred to as the "Maisong Section") of Bid Section 7 of Ningbo Metro Line 6 successfully launched, marking that the Huimai Section and Maisong Section of Ningbo Metro Line 6 achieved dual-line shield launching within one month, with four shield machines tunneling simultaneously.

Ningbo Metro Line 6 has a total length of 39.6 kilometers and 24 stations. The bid section undertaken by the company is about 3.6 kilometers long and includes two shield tunneling sections and five cross passages. The left line of the Huimai Section is about 2.2 kilometers long, and the shield passes beneath the Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway, the Huancheng South Road Viaduct, and buildings in Maimianqiao Village, among others; the right line of the Maisong Section is about 1.4 kilometers long, and the shield machine passes beneath multiple rivers and alongside power towers, among others, with significant site constraints and high construction risks.

To ensure the safe and efficient tunneling of the four shield machines, the project department arranged more than 100 construction workers in rotating shifts for 24-hour uninterrupted construction. The shield tunneling team exercised strict control over multiple aspects including the construction site, personnel, materials, environment, risk assessment, and emergency plans, and completed the shield assembly and commissioning in 8 days, more than halving the planned duration. They held several pre-launch issue review meetings, refined the work plan down to each hour, concentrated efforts on the technical modification of the gantry crane to improve muck removal efficiency, deployed double excavators for soil removal operations, and optimized the tunneling procedures of the first two shield machines, completing the acceptance of the first hundred rings of the preceding shield tunnel in 10 days, thereby providing support for the launch of the shield machines in these two sections.
