Recently, the right line of the shield tunneling section between the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal Station and Jiaoyi Bay West Station of Section 2334 of Phase III of Dongguan Rail Transit Line 2 successfully passed the hundred-ring acceptance, marking a new chapter in the project's tunneling!

The shield tunneling section will pass beneath the cement mixing pile and CFG pile areas of Binhaiwan Avenue and the Modie River, and pass alongside Binhaiwan No. 2 box culvert. The shield will traverse fully and strongly weathered rock layers, where the cutterhead and cutting tools of the shield machine are prone to wear.

To ensure the safety of shield tunneling, the project team carried out a series of modification designs for the shield machine, comprehensively strengthening wear resistance, waterproofing, and sealing performance, and equipping it with advanced geological radar detection to ensure the shield machine meets construction requirements and achieves safe, precise, and rapid tunneling.

The successful passing of this hundred-ring acceptance has laid a solid foundation for subsequent safe and efficient shield tunneling. The project department will continue to work hard and carry out all shield construction management work to high standards and with high quality.
