Recently, with the completion of debugging of the communication equipment at Shuozhou East Station, all engineering projects and equipment installation and debugging north of the Hengshan Tunnel in the Shanxi section of the Jining-Datong-Yuanping High-Speed Railway have been fully completed, meeting the conditions for static acceptance. At present, multiple projects along the entire line have been completed, track laying is 80% complete, and line construction is advancing safely and in an orderly manner.
Since the full-scale construction of the Jidayuan High-Speed Railway began in November 2021, the construction agent, the Datong-Xi'an Passenger Dedicated Line Company, together with all construction units, has worked day and night to push forward at full speed, and the subgrade, bridge, and tunnel works have all been completed.
The Shanxi section of the Jidayuan High-Speed Railway has a total of 6 stations. Among them, Datong South Station is an existing station, Huairen East Station is a station undergoing reconstruction and expansion, and Yingxian West Station, Shanyin South Station, Shuozhou East Station, and Daixian West Station are all newly built stations. At present, more than 75% of the construction work of all stations has been completed, and the interior and exterior decoration of station buildings and platform paving are being comprehensively advanced.
As the most difficult controlling project along the entire line, the secondary lining and ballastless track bed construction of the Hengshan Tunnel are progressing in an orderly manner. The Hengshan Tunnel has a total length of 14.76 kilometers and passes through 18 fault fracture zones and affected zones. Grade IV and Grade V surrounding rock accounts for nearly 80%, making it a Grade I high-risk tunnel with extremely complex geological conditions, described by construction workers as "drilling a hole in tofu pudding."
During tunnel construction, in response to problems such as rockfall, sliding collapse, sudden water and mud inrush, and large deformation that could occur at any time, the builders used advanced drilling, 30-meter comprehensive geological forecasting, and other means to detect geological conditions in advance, adjust operating parameters at any time, and overcome difficulties such as more than a hundred sliding collapses and frequent water inflow, achieving the successful breakthrough of the tunnel. To ensure the safety of subsequent operations, construction personnel carried out high-standard, all-round reinforcement of the tunnel. It is expected that by mid-September, the Hengshan Tunnel will meet the conditions for track laying.
It is understood that after the completion of track laying and other construction in the Hengshan Tunnel, the entire line will enter the static acceptance stage. Subsequently, after joint debugging and testing, trial operation, preliminary acceptance, and safety assessment, the Jidayuan High-Speed Railway is expected to open to traffic in mid-January next year.
