At around 2 a.m. on August 31, the continuous girder of the Tongchuan Bridge over the Baotou-Maoming Expressway on the Xi'an-Yan'an High-Speed Railway was successfully closed. The bridge has a total length of approximately 581.2 meters, and the main span of its continuous girder is 80 meters long. As a key controlling construction project of the Xi'an-Yan'an High-Speed Railway, the successful closure of the continuous girder of the Tongchuan Bridge over the Baotou-Maoming Expressway marks a new breakthrough in the construction of the Xi'an-Yan'an High-Speed Railway and lays the foundation for the entire line to be completed and opened to traffic on schedule.

　　The Xi'an-Yan'an High-Speed Railway is the first high-speed railway in the old revolutionary base area of northern Shaanxi and an important component of the Baotou (Yinchuan)-Haikou high-speed railway corridor in the national high-speed railway network. The line has a total length of 299.8 kilometers, is built to double-track high-speed railway standards, and has a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. After the line is completed and put into operation, the travel time from Xi'an to Yan'an will be shortened from the current two and a half hours to about one hour.
