From August 22 to August 24, the completion acceptance meeting for Suzhou Rail Transit Line 8 was successfully held in Suzhou. A total of 14 industry experts from across Jiangsu Province conducted inspection and acceptance of all stations along Line 8 (civil main structures and ancillary structures, mechanical and electrical installation and decoration), the running tunnels, track, depot, and power supply and systems engineering, among others.

For this acceptance, a Completion Acceptance Committee for Line 8 was established, with four major specialized acceptance groups under it: the Comprehensive Acceptance Group, the Civil Engineering and Decoration Acceptance Group, the Mechanical and Electrical Acceptance Group, and the Systems Acceptance Group. Each group carried out on-site surveys, document spot checks, and on-site system (equipment) inspections according to its own acceptance route and test items, and engaged in thorough exchanges with the construction, design,施工 (construction), supervision, and consulting units, among others, consolidated the acceptance opinions of each group, and formed a formal completion acceptance opinion through discussion by the Acceptance Committee.

The Acceptance Committee concluded that the Suzhou Rail Transit Line 8 project, in accordance with the requirements of capital construction procedures, completed project initiation, planning, engineering feasibility study, preliminary design, construction drawing review, quality and safety supervision registration, construction permits, and other work, and that the construction content and scale comply with the relevant approvals, design, and contract requirements. The 68 unit projects and the 297 sub-unit projects they contain have completed acceptance and passed quality inspection (excluding items agreed to be deferred in accordance with regulations). The Acceptance Committee unanimously agreed that Suzhou Rail Transit Line 8 passes completion acceptance. The smooth passing of the completion acceptance for Line 8 provides a strong guarantee for the subsequent opening of the line and its safe entry into operation, and provides comprehensive support for the high-quality operation and high-quality development of Suzhou Rail Transit.

According to reports, Line 8 has a total length of 35.6 kilometers and 28 stations. After opening, it will achieve same-platform interchange with Line 3 at Xijinqiao Station and Tangzhuang Station, forming a "combined loop" in the Suzhou metro network. Line 8 is close to multiple green ecological scenic areas and adopts numerous low-carbon and environmentally friendly construction technologies, such as semi-exposed station decoration, to create a "green ecological line"; it is the first in the province to promote barrier-free street crossing across the entire line, sets up step-free third restrooms along the entire line, and provides nursing rooms at 11 high-passenger-flow stations, practicing the "people-oriented" concept and enhancing the humanistic care temperature of the rail transit service brand. It is worth mentioning that after Line 8 opens at the end of September this year, Suzhou will welcome the grand occasion of eight metro lines operating simultaneously.

Next, Suzhou Rail Transit Group will, in accordance with the experts' opinions, actively implement the completion acceptance opinions and further accelerate work such as project finishing and closure, roads around stations, landscaping, and B+R parking spaces. After passing completion acceptance, Line 8 will next undergo a pre-initial-operation safety assessment, and once the assessment is completed, it will open for operation.
