CCTV News: On the afternoon of August 23, a cold-chain international freight train loaded with over 400 tons of fresh vegetables, including cabbage, chili peppers, and broccoli, departed from Yuxi, Yunnan, traveled along the China-Laos Railway to Vientiane, Laos, and was then transferred by road to Bangkok, Thailand. This marks the entry of the China-Laos Railway's export cold-chain international transport into a normalized phase.

　　This cold-chain international freight train uses advanced refrigerated container transport, with vegetables under precise temperature control throughout the journey inside the refrigerated containers, ensuring their freshness and quality and opening up a stable and efficient new sea route for Yunnan's specialty industrial products and fresh fruits and vegetables.

　　Zhang Guilan, Deputy Director of the Yuxi Municipal Commerce Bureau in Yunnan, said that more than 50,000 tons of high-quality fruits and vegetables are expected to reach countries on the Indochina Peninsula through this convenient channel each year.

　　Xu Jiefeng, Director of the Yuxi Business Department of the Kunming Logistics Center of China Railway Kunming Group, said that this fast and efficient logistics channel not only meets customers' requirements for the temperature and timeliness of refrigerated cargo transport, but also demonstrates the strong capability of the China-Laos Railway in promoting international trade and serving high-level opening-up.

　　According to statistics, since the China-Laos Railway opened in December 2021, as of August 22, 2024, the total import and export freight volume along the entire line has exceeded 10 million tons.
