Recently, the Shanghai Municipal Railway Nanhui Branch Line Section 7, invested in and constructed under the responsibility of Shanghai Shentie and built by the Foundation Group of Shanghai Construction Group, has achieved important construction progress. The shield on the right line of the section from Lingang Comprehensive Zone Station to Lingang Open Zone Station has successfully launched, marking that another section of the Nanhui Branch Line has entered the shield construction stage.

In the section from Lingang Comprehensive Zone Station to Lingang Open Zone Station of Section 7, the left line is about 2,878.2 meters long and the right line is about 2,878.6 meters long. The tunnel longitudinal slope is a V-shaped slope, with a maximum longitudinal slope of 8.43‰. The tunnel crown burial depth ranges from 9.9 meters to 22.7 meters. Four cross passages and one built-in pump house are provided.

The section is constructed using two 9-meter-class earth pressure balance shield machines. Both lines launch from Lingang Open Zone Station and advance to Lingang Comprehensive Zone Station for reception. At present, the components of the shield machine for the left line are also being delivered and assembled in an orderly manner.

To ensure that the shield machines launch on time, safely, and smoothly, under the overall organization and advance deployment of Shanghai Shentie, all participating units have worked together. By implementing zoned management of the construction site, the project team achieved simultaneous progress on multiple lines and efficiently completed the transportation of shield machine components into the site, lifting into the shaft, and installation and commissioning.

At the same time, the project team carefully organized and carried out reviews of relevant construction plans and condition acceptance work. By strengthening professional training for management and operating personnel, conducting safety technical briefings, and carrying out on-site emergency drills and other measures, the work requirements for each stage of shield launching were strictly implemented. Finally, after more than 50 days of hard work by the builders, who did not fear the high temperatures, the shield launching work was successfully completed.
