Recently, the Baiyun District Branch of the Guangzhou Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Bureau issued the Construction Project Planning Permit for the ancillary works of the Dajinzhong Station of the Guangzhou Rail Transit Line 11 Project. With this, all sections of the Baiyun segment of Guangzhou Metro Line 11 have obtained planning approval, bringing the line one step closer to opening and operation.

Guangzhou Metro Line 11 is a ring-shaped backbone line that strengthens the integrity of Guangzhou's metro network and alleviates traffic pressure in the central urban area. With a total length of approximately 44.2 kilometers, it is entirely underground and connects five central urban districts: Yuexiu, Liwan, Haizhu, Tianhe, and Baiyun. The line has 32 stations in total, including 26 interchange stations, 16 of which interchange with existing lines, earning it the title of the "King of Interchanges" of Guangzhou Metro. The line uses 8-car Type A trains in an 8A formation, with a maximum operating speed of 80 km/h, and is scheduled to open for trial operation by the end of this year.

In Baiyun District, the line has stations including Ziyuangang Station, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine Station, and Dajinzhong Station. At present, all station, ancillary, and section works within the Baiyun District scope of Guangzhou Metro Line 11 have obtained the Construction Project Planning Permit. Once the relevant stations open and operate, they will significantly enhance connectivity between Baiyun District and other districts, greatly facilitating travel for Baiyun residents.

At present, Baiyun District is home to 11 rail transit projects under construction, including the Line 8 branch line, the northern extension of Line 8, Line 11, Line 12, Phase II of Line 13, Phase II of Line 14, as well as the Guanghua Intercity Railway, Fangbai Intercity Railway, Guangqing Intercity Railway, Xinbaiguang Intercity Railway, and Guangfo Ring Intercity Railway. It has the largest number of stations and the longest construction mileage among all districts in the city, making it a major district for rail transit construction.

The Baiyun District Branch of the Guangzhou Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Bureau has taken the initiative to serve rail transit construction, repeatedly coordinating with Guangzhou Metro Group, the Metro Design Institute, the Pearl River Delta Intercity Railway Company, and the Municipal Railway Investment Group to study and optimize station construction plans, coordinate land use matters, understand problems in planning approval, and propose solutions, leveraging the strength of planning and natural resources to support the construction of this major rail transit district.
