The integrated spatial design plans for stations on Qingdao Metro Line 2 Phase II, Line 7 Phase II, and the Line 8 Branch were unveiled for the first time. From August 12 to 18, Qingdao Metro Group Co., Ltd. will publicly display the integrated spatial design plans for the stations on these three lines at the Qingdao Planning Exhibition Hall (No. 78 Donghai East Road, Laoshan District, Qingdao).

Line 2 Phase II emphasizes the concept that "space is also art"

Qingdao Metro Line 2 Phase II starts at Licun Park Station in Licang District (already in operation) and ends at Expo Park Station in Laoshan District. The line is approximately 8.9 kilometers long, entirely underground, with 8 stations in total. The line has 3 key stations and 5 standard stations. The key stations are Xiawangbu Station, Dongchuan Road Station, and Longchuan Road Station; the standard stations are Fo'erya Station, Hechuan Road Station, Hanchuan Road Station, Changchuan Road Station, and Expo Park Station. It is a high-capacity rail transit backbone line in the eastern coastal urban area.

The Line 2 Phase II alignment, drawing on documents such as the "Research Report on Regional Culture of the Qingdao Metro Network," introduces urban characteristics and natural scenery into the underground space. With the design theme of "Traversing the forest sea and misty realm, exploring the phantom of technology," and while adhering to the design principle of spatial integration, it emphasizes the concept that space is also art. Using abstract and minimalist design language, through design methods such as functionality, integration, systematization, and standardization, it expresses a vision of harmonious coexistence between modern technology and nature.

Among them, the colors of standard stations are divided into sections according to line characteristics, transitioning from tech blue in the west to forest sea green in the east. The design of standard stations consistently adheres to the principle that function is fundamental. On the one hand, functional facility design is used as a carrier to enhance the "humanistic care" and artistic quality of the metro; on the other hand, with the station architecture as the base, functional elements such as spatial pipelines, cable trays, and equipment terminals are integrated and modularized, emphasizing a sense of order and industrial character, weakening the expression of decorative elements, and restoring the essential nature of rail transit stations.

The theme of Xiawangbu Station is "Time Being Interpreted." The overall space is based on full-discipline integrated collaborative design, with the purpose of restoring architectural texture and structural beauty. By effectively organizing pipelines, the sense of order in the space is enhanced. At the same time, using time as a paintbrush to depict beautiful scenes of time, it creates a rich, diverse, and clearly layered modern rail transit space.

The theme of Dongchuan Road Station is "The Ideal Being Pursued." By optimizing and integrating the single independent functions of various disciplines, with productized equipment, modular components, and integrated functions, the spatial environment is improved, showcasing the wisdom of scientific and technological innovation.

The theme of Longchuan Road Station is "A Scroll Being Diffused." The station space emphasizes "people-oriented" as the design premise. By scientifically and reasonably organizing equipment, the spatial scale and rhythm are enhanced. By upgrading functional facilities, humanistic care is reflected. The space also uses appropriate decoration and lighting to increase the inclusiveness of the metro station, while allowing the pure architectural structure and texture to be displayed.

The design of Line 7 Phase II takes "ancient elegance flowing into today" as its theme

The Qingdao Metro Line 7 Phase II project is approximately 16.87 kilometers long, with 14 stations in total, all underground. The line has 5 key cultural stations, namely Wenfeng Road Station, Lan'ao Road Station, Heshan Road Station, Zhenhua Road Station, and Cangkou Station; the rest are standard stations. While efficiently fulfilling its transportation function, Metro Line 7 also provides a public space that can showcase Qingdao's cultural features. It is a platform for displaying the city's spirit and Qingdao's cultural temperament, and an important symbol of the progress of modern urban civilization. The integrated spatial design of the entire line takes "ancient elegance flowing into today" as the line theme. The creative design team sorted out a clearly hierarchical and well-organized design context for the entire line from documents such as the "Qingdao Metro Regional Culture Report" and the "Public Art Design Guidelines" compiled by Qingdao Metro.

Among them, the theme of Wenfeng Road Station is "Observing the Mirror at Ease." The design theme unfolds around the Moshui River and the natural world of wetland birds, depicting a station space that is refreshing and delightful, symbolizing that the city is full of vitality and vigor like the thriving wetland ecology. It presents both a simple and grand spatial texture and a light, lively artistic atmosphere. The ceiling form of the station hall echoes the art form and spatial theme. Light-colored metal air ducts and integrated support and hanger platforms run through the station hall, paired with gray-green wall colors, together with the plain and natural texture of fair-faced concrete, forming a rich and harmonious color system, presenting a poetic space of "blue wind rippling the jade water, graceful bird wings carrying fish along."

The theme of Lan'ao Road Station is "Embroidered Doors and Carved Roof Ridges." The spatial design is inspired by the formal composition and color system of traditional architecture in Jimo Ancient City. Starting from the architectural style of the ancient city, the spatial tone tends toward elegance and restraint. The pipeline integration system and lighting system are integrated, with light metal colors selected for the exterior. The elevator uses gradient glass decoration, paired with dark purple end walls, echoing the brilliant colors of the ancient city's night scene. Together with the large areas of exposed fair-faced concrete texture, it creates a plain, honest, and harmonious atmosphere in the station space.

The theme of Heshan Road Station is "Jagged Cliffs Standing Steep." The design theme unfolds around the Mashan Stone Forest, reconstructing geometric textures extracted from the morphological system of columnar jointed stone columns. The integrated pipeline design avoids the columns, allowing the structure and texture of the concrete columns to be presented more completely. The color composition and geometric lines of the integrated pipeline support and hanger echo the station space theme, forming a more harmonious integrated spatial experience.

The theme of Zhenhua Road Station is "City Refining Shadows." The station space design is inspired by urban industrial memory, refining and evolving the structure of industrial factory buildings. The spatial design is integrated with public art and presented in the station hall in the form of animated projection interaction.

The theme of Cangkou Station is "Weaving Words." Cangkou Station is a transfer station where Lines 7 and 8 share the station hall. The station space is designed in a unified manner. Combined with elliptical fair-faced concrete columns, the line colors of the two lines are used at key traffic nodes to emphasize spatial division, enhance spatial orientation and recognizability, and provide passengers with a more humanized and efficient transfer station space.

The Line 8 Branch poetically expresses Jiaozhou's unique artistic temperament

The Qingdao Metro Line 8 Branch is approximately 20.4 kilometers long, with 11 stations in total, all underground. The line starts from the east bank of the Dagu River, crosses the main channel of the Dagu River into the Jialai River basin, and runs from east to west, passing Dajian Station, the Dagu River Museum, Zhanqian Avenue, and Haier Avenue, running through the main urban area of Jiaozhou City and the city's main traffic arteries before heading north to Jiaozhou Railway Station.

The integrated spatial design team takes "Dreamlike Time and Space, Gentle Ripples of the Gu River" as the cultural theme of the Line 8 Branch, and selects 5 stations as key cultural stations, namely the Dagu River Museum Station, Zhanqian Avenue Station, Wenzhou Road Station, Fuzhou South Road Station, and Guangzhou Road Station; the rest are standard stations. The creative team infuses regional culture and urban scenery into the underground space, poetically expressing Jiaozhou's unique artistic temperament through artistic language.

Among them, the theme of the Dagu River Museum Station is "Elegance of the Gu River." The design makes full use of the station's arched spatial characteristics. On the calm and quiet base color of fair-faced concrete, the artist extracts the natural ecological texture of the Dagu River area, conducts in-depth research on the historical flow of the Dagu River, and through exploring natural and cultural symbols, blends them into a poem of the long river of time and a happy life.

The theme of Wenzhou Road Station is "Leaping Fish and Flying Birds." Continuing the simple and modern fair-faced style, it maximizes the advantages of the arched architecture. The ceiling is decorated with wave-shaped mesh panels organically combined with lighting, greatly reducing direct and reflected light and creating a higher-quality, comfortable light environment.

The theme of Fuzhou South Road Station is "Black Pottery and the Whisks of Conversation." The spatial design is inspired by the simple yet mysterious charm of polished black pottery and thin-bodied black pottery of the Sanlihe culture. The creators integrate abstract elements of ceramic art into the main visual language of the metro station. The public art draws on the unique luster and texture produced by black pottery through firing and cooling, creating a deep and elegant atmosphere.

The theme of Guangzhou Road Station is "Light of Life." The designers advocate the concept that space itself is art and explore further integration of public art and space. By installing prism art devices in the spatial dome, when light passes through these prisms, it is dispersed into colorful beams, creating the form of a rainbow in nature. The luminous art installation cleverly blends natural elements with modern art. The ceiling is designed with rippling water-pattern lights that produce visual effects while creating a diffuse, rainbow-like luminous environment, creating a public space that is both practical and aesthetically rich.
