On August 13, the super-large-diameter shield tunneling machine "Qiangguo Hao" successfully crossed a major risk source, the ** expressway, on the section from No. 1 open-cut section to Huanggang Checkpoint Station of the Qianhuang section of the Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen intercity railway, marking a breakthrough in the project.

The expressway crossed this time is the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway, a golden artery of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The shield machine needs to cross a distance of 264 meters and must also overcome numerous difficulties, including long-distance tunneling through slightly weathered strata that are soft at the top and hard at the bottom, limited conditions for emergency surface response, high difficulty in controlling expressway settlement, and easy wear of cutting tools. The construction is extremely difficult, with numerous technical challenges and relatively high safety risks.
