Yesterday, scattered heavy rain or rainstorms occurred in Jiangnan, South China, and the Jianghuai region, with localized torrential rain (100–186 mm). In addition, light to moderate rain and localized heavy rain occurred in eastern and southern Qinghai, central Gansu, central Ningxia, and central Tibet.

From the 14th to the 18th, rainfall in China will continue to be scattered in distribution with high intensity at individual locations. Light to moderate rain is expected in eastern Northwest China, Inner Mongolia, North China, Northeast China, and the Huang-Huai region, with localized heavy rain or rainstorms; moderate to heavy rain is expected in western and southern Sichuan, Jiangnan, South China, and Yunnan, with localized rainstorms or torrential rain. Today in particular, heavy to torrential rain is expected in parts of eastern Gansu, southern Ningxia, northern Shaanxi, eastern the Sichuan Plateau and western the Sichuan Basin, southern Yunnan, southern Shandong, Anhui, Jiangxi, southern Hunan, central and southern Zhejiang, central and southern Fujian, central and southern Guangxi, northern and southern Guangdong, and most of Taiwan Island, with localized torrential rain (100–120 mm) in southeastern Fujian, southeastern Guangxi, and southwestern Guangdong. Some of the above areas will be accompanied by short-duration heavy precipitation, with localized thunderstorms, gales, and other severe convective weather.

Meteorological experts remind the public that recently Jiangnan, South China, and eastern Northwest China have experienced frequent rainfall with high intensity at individual locations. The public should pay attention to the latest forecasts and warning information when going out and avoid going out during periods of heavy rainfall.

In terms of temperature, the scope of high temperatures in southern China will further shrink today. Parts of eastern Sichuan, Chongqing, southwestern Hubei, northwestern Hunan, and northern Zhejiang are expected to see high temperatures above 35°C, with localized areas reaching 37°C–39°C. The public should take measures to prevent heatstroke and stay cool.
