CCTV News: In the first half of this year, China's light industry production grew rapidly, the consumer market steadily expanded, and the industrial structure continued to be optimized and upgraded, strongly supporting the stable growth of the industrial economy.

　　Data from the China National Light Industry Council shows that in the first half of this year, the value added of light industry above designated size grew by 5.3% year on year.

　　On the production side, among the 91 major light industry products tracked by the National Bureau of Statistics, 66 products saw output growth, a growth coverage rate of 72.5%. Among them, the output of 18 products, including air conditioners and solar cells, maintained double-digit growth, indicating steady production growth.

　　On the consumption side, in the first half of the year, retail sales of 11 categories of light industry goods totaled nearly 3.8 trillion yuan, accounting for 15.9% of total retail sales of consumer goods and up 4.4% year on year.

　　At the same time, light industry exports remained resilient. Among them, home appliances, furniture and other sectors grew by more than 10%, and the scale of both domestic and foreign trade markets expanded steadily.

　　Next, the state will cultivate and expand new consumption formats and models, enrich and expand consumption scenarios, broaden the scope of inclusive policies, create a favorable environment for industrial development, and promote the sustained improvement of the light industry economy.
