In early autumn, Nanzhao is lush and green, with distant mountains like dark eyebrows. The China Energy Engineering Nanzhao County Green Building Materials Park project, located in Qishugou Village, Banshanping Town, is being pushed forward at full speed, presenting a busy scene.
The project is invested in and built by China Energy Engineering Kanghui (Nanyang) Stone Industry Co., Ltd., a controlled subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Green Building Materials Co., Ltd. It is a 2024 Henan Province ** provincial key project, with a total investment of about 5 billion yuan, built in three phases. Following the development layout of "one mine, one park, one headquarters base" and adopting the model of "independent investment + business-attracting-investment," it aims at high-end, diversified, green and low-carbon products, builds an industrial cluster around the granite industry chain, cultivates an "industrial tree," and creates an "industrial forest."
The first phase of the project involves an investment of 1.5 billion yuan, building a production line for decorative stone specification slabs with an annual capacity of 5 million square meters, a production line for stone carving and stone inscription products with an annual capacity of 5,000 pieces, comprehensive utilization production lines for boundary materials and saw mud and saw powder, and a comprehensive resource utilization production line with an annual capacity of 1.5 million tons. It is expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of December.
"The project is planned to be fully completed within 5 years. After reaching full production, it is expected to achieve an annual industrial output value of 2 billion yuan, annual tax revenue of more than 400 million yuan, and drive employment for about 6,000 people," introduced Zhou Wei, deputy general manager of the company.
China Energy Engineering Green Building Materials Co., Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Group. Granite paperweights carved with various patterns were so delightful that one could hardly put them down, and basalt continuous fiber composite rebars and bundles of basalt continuous fiber made people marvel at the wonder of technology. "The basalt fiber we produce has the advantages of light specific gravity, high tensile strength, acid and alkali resistance, and long service life, which will play a 'material revolution' role in highway construction," said Zhou Wei.
Focusing on the "stone" industry, the county makes the most of its "stone" article. Nanzhao County is rich in granite reserves and has huge development potential. According to exploration, the county has 1,200 square kilometers of usable granite area, with predicted resources of 36 billion cubic meters. The county has 5 granite mining rights, 5 granite mining enterprises, and more than 40 granite processing enterprises, producing 8.5 million square meters of various granite slabs and 20,000 cubic meters of special-shaped granite products annually, with annual sales revenue of 500 million yuan and nearly 3,000 employees. Products are mainly sold to Beijing, Tianjin, Fujian, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan, Hebei, Shandong, Jiangsu, and other places.
The China Energy Engineering Nanzhao County Green Building Materials Park project is a major investment promotion project in Nanzhao County. Since the project began contact and negotiation in 2022, Nanzhao County has firmly established the concept that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets." Based on the principle of "complementary advantages, mutual benefit, green development, and win-win cooperation," relying on Nanzhao County's rich granite resources and the central state-owned enterprise's technical platform advantages and leading role, and through the joint efforts of both sides and the strong promotion of the project task force, in December 2023 the project legally and compliantly won the mining right. After that, in only half a year, it successively obtained the mining license and passed the safety facility design review of the Provincial Department of Emergency Management, reaching the conditions for project construction and setting a new industry speed.
"Our goal is to build the Nanzhao County Green Building Materials Park into a sustainable *** green mine, a low-carbon ecological demonstration park, and a smart and innovative stone industry headquarters base," said Ke Dayi, chairman of the company. He stated that the company will use China Energy Engineering Group's overseas layout and high-end resource advantages to establish official regular cooperation paths with neighboring countries, bring the "Nanzhao Stone" brand and influence abroad, and achieve dual-driven development domestically and internationally. At the same time, it will introduce intangible cultural heritage inheritors to settle in the park, greatly increasing product added value while opening a new chapter in the sustained and leapfrog development of Nanzhao stone.
