Recently, the Zhanjiang Municipal Natural Resources Bureau issued the post-approval announcement of the "Zhanjiang Urban Rail Transit Special Plan Revision", adjusting the urban rail transit network plan. The planning horizon is 2035 in the near term and 2050 in the long term. The key planning scope covers the administrative areas under Zhanjiang Municipality, including Chikan, Xiashan, Potou, Mazhang, and Zhanjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone, with a total area of approximately 1,705.3 square kilometers.

It is reported that the long-term (2035) network consists of 6 lines with a total length of approximately 166.3 kilometers. Among them, Lines 2 and 4 are express lines with a total length of approximately 51.1 kilometers, while Lines 1, 3, 5, and 6 are regular lines with a total length of approximately 115.2 kilometers.

The prospective (2050) network consists of 8 lines with a total length of approximately 297.8 kilometers. Among them, Lines 2 and 4 are express lines with a total length of approximately 105.8 kilometers, while Lines 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, and 8 are regular lines with a total length of approximately 192 kilometers.
