Hefei's first driverless metro line—Line 8—has attracted much attention. Recently, Line 8 has seen new progress, with integrated joint debugging work being vigorously advanced.

What is integrated joint debugging? Integrated joint debugging is a "dialogue" among multiple systems and disciplines, including power supply, electromechanical, communications, and signaling. Through comprehensive joint debugging, it achieves multi-party linkage and coordinated cooperation among trains, stations, train control rooms, and the dispatch hall, building an important "bridge" for the smooth operation of trains.

Integrated joint debugging is a very important part before the official opening of a train line. It generally includes more than 20 major items and over 100 sub-items, with all systems closely interlinked and tightly integrated.

According to reports, debugging for traditional lines takes 5 months, while debugging for fully automated driving lines requires 8-10 months because there are more projects and broader coverage. There are 48 scenario tests and more than a thousand test items; each station has nearly 4,000 points, and each station must be debugged more than 10 rounds.

Since all trains on the line were put into service on July 1, Hefei Rail Transit has operated debug trains more than 150 times, with debugging time reaching 560 hours, making every effort to ensure safe and smooth train operation.

The first phase of the Hefei Rail Line 8 project has a total length of 22.5 kilometers. The line starts at Yijing Station and ends at Beicheng High-Speed Railway Station, with 12 stations in total. It is the first express line designed with a speed of 100 kilometers per hour.

As of now, the main structures of all 12 stations in the first phase of Hefei Rail Line 8 have been fully topped out, achieving "tunnel breakthrough" and "track breakthrough" across the entire line; the Beicheng Depot has completed 99% of the total construction volume, trains have entered the dynamic commissioning stage, and work such as electromechanical installation and decoration, strong and weak current systems, and road reopening is being advanced in an orderly manner.
