August 1 (Report) — On the afternoon of the 1st, road surface subsidence occurred on the highway at the intersection of Wenbo Road and Houhu Avenue in Wuhan, causing the Wuhan–Shiyan High-Speed Railway passing through this section to operate at reduced speed.
In response, Wuhan Metro Group issued a notice: At around 14:30 on August 1, 2024, water and sand inrush occurred during construction of the Shizhong section in Jiang'an District of Wuhan Rail Transit Line 12, causing road surface subsidence at the intersection of Wenbo Road and Houhu Avenue (about 20 meters long and about 15 meters wide).
