On July 25, at the construction site of the Baima Qujiang Grand Bridge of the Zhenguang Expressway C10 Project, located in Tongxin Village, Baima Township, Guang'an District, Guang'an City and Shuanghe Village, Hucheng Town, Qianfeng District, the steel main girders under the arch of the Baima Qujiang Grand Bridge were successfully closed as the last steel main girder under the arch was lowered into place and installed.

Pang Qi, head of the Quality Inspection Division of the project department, stated that in order to ensure the smooth closure of the steel main girders under the arch of the Baima Qujiang Grand Bridge, the C10 project department reasonably reversed the construction schedule, formulated a construction plan, strictly followed the special construction scheme, and strictly implemented the three-level technical disclosure system, thereby ensuring the successful closure of the steel main girders under the arch.

It is understood that the Zhenguang Expressway connects Zhenba County, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province in the north and Guang'an District, Guang'an City in the south, with a total length of 251 kilometers and a total investment of approximately 48.9 billion yuan. The Baima Qujiang Grand Bridge is an important controlling project of the Tongguang section of the Zhenguang Expressway. The bridge has a total length of 657.8 meters, a width of 29.5 meters, and a main span of 390 meters. It is a half-through concrete-filled steel tube arch bridge. Construction started in late February 2022, with a construction period of three years.

"At present, the project department is mainly engaged in the hoisting construction of the steel main girders of the Baima Qujiang Grand Bridge, the precast construction of girders and slabs, as well as the construction of the subgrade and substructure of the ramp of the Hucheng Hub Interchange," Pang Qi introduced. As of now, 96% of the earthwork and stonework of the subgrade in this project section has been completed, 99% of the pile foundations, 80% of the substructure, 4% of the precast girders and slabs, and 90% of the Baima Qujiang Grand Bridge.

"The successful closure of the steel main girders under the arch this time has sounded the clarion call for the sprint toward the completion of the Baima Qujiang Grand Bridge," Pang Qi introduced. To ensure the smooth progress of the construction of the Baima Qujiang Grand Bridge, the project contractor has carried forward the new-era road and bridge spirit of "overcoming difficulties, being dedicated, and having the courage to win," reasonably arranged the construction schedule, assigned specific personnel to specific posts with specific responsibilities, and effectively ensured safety, quality, and production.

After the Zhenguang Expressway is completed, it will accelerate the construction of a smooth and efficient modern comprehensive transportation system among Bazhong, Dazhou, and Guang'an. It will help integrate the characteristic industrial resources of the northeastern Sichuan region, drive industrial development along the route, and is of great significance for improving the regional expressway transportation network and promoting the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.
