The construction of the Hanjiang Grand Bridge on the Shiwu North Expressway, a key controlling project, has reached a new milestone: the north bank side span of the bridge has been successfully closed, bringing the full line one step closer to completion and opening to traffic.

From 18:00 on July 24 to 6:00 on July 25, at the junction between the north bank approach bridge and the main bridge of the Hanjiang Grand Bridge, after 12 hours of continuous intensive work by engineering and technical personnel, a total of 275 tons of concrete was poured, and the north span of the Hanjiang Grand Bridge was successfully closed.

Song Yuliang, assistant manager of the Shiwu North Second Bid Section of CCCC Road & Bridge Construction Co., Ltd., introduced that the successful closure of the north bank side span of the Hanjiang Grand Bridge marks that the mid-span construction of the Hanjiang Grand Bridge has entered the sprint stage, laying a solid foundation for the closure of the entire bridge.

The Hanjiang Grand Bridge is invested in by Hubei Jiaotou YunChu Construction Company and constructed by CCCC Road & Bridge Construction Co., Ltd., with a total investment of approximately 316.15 million yuan. The main bridge of the Hanjiang Grand Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge with a main span of 370 meters, twin towers and double cable planes, and a steel-concrete composite girder, with a total length of 694 meters. The cable towers are diamond-shaped in the transverse direction, with the north tower 125.8 meters high and the south tower 153.7 meters high. The bridge spans the Hanjiang River, connecting on the north bank with Pengjiawan Village, Lengfenggou Village and Yazhiwan Village in Guanyin Town, Yunxi County, and on the south bank with Nanbeifeng Village in Wufeng Township, Yunyang District. Since the commencement of construction of the Hanjiang Grand Bridge on May 8, 2022, all participating construction personnel have stayed on the front line of construction year-round, continuously optimized resource allocation, strengthened process control, and advanced the construction of the entire bridge smoothly. At present, 92% of the total project volume has been completed.

Song Yuliang introduced that the mid-span of the Hanjiang Grand Bridge is planned to be closed in mid-to-late August. By then, the Shiwu North Expressway will achieve full-line connectivity and will be handed over for acceptance within the year.
