On July 28, the shield tunneling of the right line of the Tucheng Station–Lishuidao Station section of Tianjin Metro Line 8 was launched. The shield tunneling of the right line of the Tucheng Station–Lishuidao Station section of the Phase I project of Tianjin Metro Line 8 has fully commenced.

The tunnel section has a total length of 513.084 m. The Phase I project of Tianjin Metro Line 8 starts from Lvshui Park Station in Nankai District in the west and runs south to Lushuidao Station (exclusive) in Jinnan District; it is a backbone line in the southern part of the central urban area. The line passes through four administrative districts—Nankai, Heping, Hexi, and Jinnan—and serves areas along the route including the Tiantuo residential area, the Anshan West Road Science and Trade Street, the Wudadao Scenic Area, and the residential areas along Jiefang South Road.
