Tongren City in Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture has made improving urban functions and quality a key goal, vigorously advancing a series of key livelihood projects, and striving to build a new type of city that is livable, work-friendly, and smart. This year, Tongren City plans to renovate 20 old residential community projects. As of July 23, 70% of the project progress has been completed, and all are expected to be finished by October 15.
　　Since the launch of the old residential community renovation work, the Tongren City Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau has fully solicited residents' opinions and formulated detailed renovation plans. The renovation covers exterior facades, roof waterproofing, courtyard paving, heating pipe trenches, pipe networks, sewage pipe networks, entrance gates and access control, etc. At the same time, it is actively promoting the construction of parking lots and striving to solve the hot and difficult issues of "difficult parking and disorderly parking" that the public is concerned about. On the basis of fully considering citizens' travel needs and the urban layout, 64 million yuan has been invested to build 300 parking spaces on the east side of Yingbin Avenue and on Xuelian Road in the urban area, equipped with an intelligent parking management system, with the goal of putting them into use by the end of the year.
　　To further improve urban quality, Tongren City is accelerating the construction progress of projects such as the dangerous bridge on Yangguang Avenue, the municipal pipe network of the natural gas utilization project (Phase II), and the comprehensive utility tunnel in Chengbei New Area (Phase II). It is strengthening the construction of "urban lifeline" projects, focusing on advancing major livelihood projects such as Phase I and Phase II of the central urban area water supply renovation and Phase I and Phase II of the heating pipe network renovation, and continuously "adding weight" to the happiness of people's livelihoods by constantly improving urban infrastructure and optimizing urban functions.
