On July 17, relevant persons in charge from the Jiaxing Transportation Engineering Quality and Safety Center and the Jiaxing Railway Investment Group's Municipal Railway Company, along with project design, construction, supervision and other related personnel, traveled to Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province to conduct a factory acceptance inspection of the first shield tunneling machine for the Jiaxing Municipal Railway project. The acceptance team checked the shield machine's self-inspection report, certificate of conformity and other documents, and carried out detailed on-site inspection of items such as the shield machine's cutterhead and cutting tools and the segment assembly system. The acceptance team ultimately unanimously concluded that all parameters met the factory requirements and complied with construction requirements, and agreed to pass the factory acceptance.

The successful factory acceptance of the first shield tunneling machine marks that the Jiaxing to Fengnan Municipal Railway project is about to enter the shield tunneling construction stage!

The Fengnan Line SG1 section adopts the "one station, four machines" model, launching two shield tunneling machines from each end of Caozhuang Station on the Jiaxing Municipal Railway Fengnan Line—the nation's first underground station built using the continuous open caisson construction method—to bore toward Jiaxing Science and Technology City Station and Jiaxing South Station respectively. According to the construction schedule, the first shield tunneling machine accepted this time is expected to be launched at Caozhuang Station in the fourth quarter to bore toward Jiaxing Science and Technology City Station.

The first shield tunneling machine is an earth pressure balance shield machine suitable for soft soil strata, with a total length of about 110 meters and an excavation diameter of 8.83 meters. Its average tunneling speed can reach 80 millimeters per minute, and it features strong stratum adaptability, strong excavation capability and full grouting, which will effectively ensure the safety of shield tunnel construction for the municipal railway.

As an important component of the Shanghai-Suzhou-Jiaxing Intercity Railway, the first rapid railway in the Yangtze River Delta region to span two provinces and one municipality, the Jiaxing to Fengnan Municipal Railway starts at Jiaxing South Station, passes through the Jiaxing Economic and Technological Development Zone, Nanhu District and Jiashan County, and ends at the Zhejiang-Shanghai provincial boundary in Huimin Subdistrict, Jiashan County. The line has a total length of 35.1 kilometers, with 8 stations along the route and a design speed of 160 kilometers per hour.

After the project is completed, it will strengthen rail transit connections between the Jiaxing urban area, Jiashan County and the southern Shanghai cluster, and is of great significance for optimizing the urban travel structure, improving the comprehensive transportation system and promoting coordinated regional development.
