Recently, excavation construction began on the Pingla Tunnel, a controlling project of the entire Guizhou Huangtong to Guangxi Baise Railway (hereinafter referred to as the "Huangbai Railway"). Currently, among the 27 work sites of the 9 tunnels at the early-start construction points of the Guangxi section of the Huangbai Railway, 21 work sites have achieved tunnel portal excavation, pressing the "fast-forward button" on tunnel engineering construction.

Pingla Tunnel excavation construction

The Pingla Tunnel has a total length of 13,084 meters and an estimated construction period of 43.8 months. To ensure smooth construction, the contractor will excavate 3 inclined shafts, providing 7 working faces, and will also deploy 7 intelligent automatic secondary lining pouring trolleys and 55 large automated excavation, support, and shotcrete-anchor equipment and other auxiliary large construction equipment to guarantee construction quality and progress.

The Huangbai Railway is a landmark project of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, with a total length of approximately 315 kilometers and a design speed of 160 kilometers per hour. It is a national Class I single-track electrified railway, passing through the Baise revolutionary base area and regions inhabited by ethnic minorities such as the Miao, Yao, and Bouyei. Once completed, the project will further improve the regional railway network layout and become a convenient corridor from northern Guizhou to the Guangxi Beibu Gulf region, holding great significance for accelerating the construction of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor and promoting coordinated regional economic and social development.
