On July 20, the Xinlongtouling Tunnel on the Wenzhou-Yuhuan Railway, constructed by China Railway 14th Bureau Group, was successfully holed through. With this, all six tunnels on the Yuhuan section of the project have been completed, laying a solid foundation for the next stage of ballastless track construction and the opening of the line.

The Xinlongtouling Tunnel is the longest tunnel on the Yuhuan section of the Wenzhou-Yuhuan Railway, with a total length of 1,915.1 meters. The tunnel repeatedly passes through fault zones and water-rich areas, posing great construction difficulties and high safety risks.

During construction, the project team strengthened construction organization and rationally optimized the design. Following the construction principles of "short advance per round, weak blasting, strong support, rapid sealing, early ring closure, and frequent measurement," they effectively overcame problems such as shallow cover and unbalanced pressure, block falling in fractured zones, and frequent changes in surrounding rock.They strengthened advanced geological forecasting and organically combined mechanized construction with smooth blasting technology for tunnels, ensuring intelligent, efficient, safe, and controllable tunnel construction.

Once the Wenzhou-Yuhuan Railway project is completed and put into operation, it will fill the railway gap in Yuhuan City and is of great significance for integrating all of Taizhou into Zhejiang Province's "one-hour traffic circle," accelerating Taizhou's coordinated development, comprehensively upgrading the city's tier, and building a strong open city at a high level.
