On July 15, as the last batch of concrete was slowly poured into place, the pouring of the final roof slab at Qinyuan Road Station on Wuhan Metro Line 12, constructed by China Railway First Group, was completed, marking the full topping-out of the main structures of all three stations in this contract section and laying a solid foundation for the project to fully enter the shield tunneling section and ancillary structure construction.

Station main structure
Qinyuan Road Station is located at the intersection of Tuanjie Avenue and Qinyuan Road, laid out east-west along Tuanjie Avenue, and designed as an underground two-level island-platform station with a stabling/distribution power station. The station is 523.7 meters long in total, 21.1 meters wide in the standard section, and 16.9 meters deep in the foundation pit, and is divided into 27 sections and constructed in 3 levels from top to bottom. The station is situated on the Yangtze River Class I terrace, only 500 meters from Shahu Lake, with abundant groundwater and complex geological conditions. The station base slab lies in a water-rich soft soil layer of silty fine sand; during foundation pit excavation, problems such as water and sand gushing through wall joints and foundation pit heave are prone to occur, making construction difficult. The site is long and narrow with limited working space, and is adjacent to residential communities, a 110kV substation, and land used by an oil research institute, entailing a large amount of coordination work.
Since the start of construction, the project team has faced many challenges, among which the relocation and modification of underground pipelines and land acquisition were the bottleneck problems constraining construction. The relocation and modification of the intricate and complex pipelines of various types involved numerous property owners and complicated coordination work. To ensure construction progress, the project organized expert demonstrations with the construction unit on multiple occasions, implemented special pipeline relocation and modification construction plans, minimized construction impact, ensured unimpeded operations, and ultimately quickly opened up the work face.
During station construction, the project formulated scientific and specific construction plans and response measures, and developed strict control plans covering earthwork excavation, foundation pit support, base slab closure, construction monitoring, emergency measures, and full-process safety management, ensuring that both construction safety and quality management were implemented in place. At the same time, a detailed progress schedule was formulated together with corresponding increases in the input of labor, machinery, and reusable materials. Management personnel provided on-site control and command of operations 24 hours a day, and on-site work proceeded compactly, orderly, and efficiently. Throughout the station construction period, a total of more than 200,000 cubic meters of earthwork was excavated, over 16,000 vehicle transfer trips were made, 81 structural slabs were completed, and more than 75,000 cubic meters of concrete were poured.
