The Kaisheng Road road construction project is one of Dunhuang City's 2024 livelihood projects. Since construction began in June, more than half of the work has been completed. A recent visit to the road construction site revealed that the road, previously a "dead-end" that was impassable, has now begun to take shape, and construction workers are carrying out operations in an orderly manner.
　　Liu Zhiwei, a staff member of the Dunhuang City Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau, said: "At present, the ** layer of cement-sand stabilized base on Kaisheng Road has been fully paved, and work is underway to install the road curbs. The second layer of cement-sand stabilized base is expected to be paved on July 18, asphalt concrete paving will be carried out on July 22, and the motor vehicle lanes will open to traffic on the 23rd."
　　It is understood that Kaisheng Road in the urban area of Dunhuang is 123 meters long in total, with a road classification of urban branch road and a single-carriageway cross-section. The main construction contents include road, traffic, water supply, sewage, lighting and other engineering facilities, and the project is expected to be fully completed and open to traffic in August. The completion of Kaisheng Road will effectively ease traffic pressure on Wenchang North Road and the five-way intersection of Qilian Road in the urban area of Dunhuang, further enhancing the city's overall transportation capacity.
