Freezing showdown, fearless of "quick-freeze mode"

First, let's take a look at the ice and snow to cool off! At a factory project north of the Arctic Circle in Siberia, local minimum temperatures can reach -30°C. Three Zoomlion rotary drilling rigs ZR160L, ZR220A, and ZR255D worked together to overcome frozen soil and cohesive clay geology, achieving a pile diameter of 0.8 meters, a pile depth of 17 meters, and rapid pile completion in two hours.

Coincidentally, in Astana, Kazakhstan, known as the "cold capital of the world," winter minimum temperatures can reach -40°C. In the Astana Light Rail Phase I project, Zoomlion rotary drilling rigs, with outstanding performance and extremely high adaptability to working conditions, helped the Chinese team complete in just two months the workload that a local pile foundation company would take a year to complete.

In response to the extreme low-temperature winter construction environment in high-latitude regions, in 2024 Zoomlion launched a newly customized new-generation rotary drilling rig, the ZR185R. The ZR185R is equipped with a low-temperature startup function that can autonomously heat the engine diesel and coolant, and can still start and operate stably at minus 40 degrees Celsius, overcoming the problem of conventional models of rotary drilling rigs being frozen and "stalled."

Where is the hottest place in the Northern Hemisphere in summer? Dubai, with its tropical desert climate, is undoubtedly worth mentioning. Within a 5-minute walk around the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, at a high temperature of 48°C, the Zoomlion rotary drilling rig ZR300D is drilling deep into the rock formation, helping accelerate the construction of the Volta project, a high-rise residential project in the core area.

In on-site environments with extreme high temperatures and strong wind-blown sand, conventional equipment may experience overheating of components, leading to malfunction and failure, which in turn affects safe production. For this reason, Zoomlion's R&D team carried out a special research project on heat dissipation improvements, enabling the rotary drilling rigs to adapt to the local construction environment, be more heat-resistant, stable, and reliable, and become "desert special forces" widely recognized by local customers.
