In recent days, at the construction site of the Weifang Seawall Repair and Reinforcement Project, professional construction teams for revetment repair, reinforcement, crest road raising, and wave wall raising have been deployed in sequence along the coastline. Construction workers are seizing the current "golden period" for construction, going all out to rush the schedule, ensure quality, and guarantee safety, creating a bustling scene at the site.
"At present, wave wall raising, accropode installation, and crest road raising are being carried out simultaneously. To improve the safety of the protective seawall, we are raising the wave wall along the entire line within the chainage range of k7–k14.5, which is expected to be completed within 20 days. At the same time, accropodes are being installed at key sections with strong wind and waves to better dissipate wave energy and enhance protection of the embankment body. Upon completion, the entire protective seawall will meet the 100-year return period tide defense standard," introduced Guo Qilong, project manager of the Weifang Seawall Repair and Reinforcement Project of China Construction Port Engineering Group. The main works of the project will be completed before November.
It is understood that the Weifang Binhai District Seawall Repair and Reinforcement Project is a key water conservancy project of Shandong Province in 2024, with a total investment of 320 million yuan. It mainly involves repairing and reinforcing the second phase of the Weifang coastal protective seawall and its affiliated tide-blocking sluices through measures such as supplementing slope protection with dumped stone and accropodes, repairing and raising the wave wall, and raising and paving the crest road. The total length of repair and reinforcement is 19.8 kilometers. Upon completion, the project will be of great significance for further enhancing the disaster prevention and mitigation capacity of Binhai District and safeguarding the lives and property of the people.
Recently, the project launched a labor competition campaign themed "Seize the Golden Construction Period and Strive for 100 Days of Intensive Work" to go all out in advancing the construction progress. "Since the project started, Binhai District has continuously carried out work in element guarantee, supervision and inspection, seized sunny weather, and raced against time to make progress, ensuring smooth construction. We will continue to strengthen communication and coordination with the construction unit, promptly resolve problems and difficulties encountered during construction, and ensure the high-quality completion of the seawall repair and reinforcement project," said Yuan Xilei, deputy director of the Weifang Binhai District Ocean and Fishery and Water Conservancy Bureau and director of the Tide Defense Embankment Management Service Center, at the launch ceremony of the labor competition.
After the ceremony, Yuan Xilei made detailed inquiries about the project's work in work safety, labor protection, and heatstroke prevention and cooling, requiring the project to scientifically arrange working hours, continuously carry out heatstroke prevention and cooling measures and labor protection under high-temperature weather, and together with Chen Ping, deputy general manager of Weifang Bincheng Construction Group Co., Ltd., distributed cooling consolation supplies to the builders.
