On July 11, the Baolao Tunnel on the Yunnan Tianma Expressway was successfully holed through on both tubes.

The Tianma Expressway is located in Wenshan Prefecture in southeastern Yunnan Province. The route starts at the Tianbao Port on the China-Vietnam border and ends at Malipo County, with a total length of 52.831 km. The Baolao Tunnel on the Tianma Expressway, constructed by CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., passes through Baolao Village, Malipo Town, Malipo County, running from east to west. It is a separated one-way two-lane tunnel designed for a speed of 80 km/h, with a left tube 436 m long and a maximum buried depth of 88.97 m, and a right tube 428 m long and a maximum buried depth of 78.97 m.

The Tianma Expressway is one of the connecting lines of the east-west trunk routes of the national expressway network within Yunnan Province and an important part of Yunnan Province's medium- and long-term expressway layout. Once completed and opened to traffic, the travel time from Tianbao Port to the seat of Malipo County will be shortened from the current 50 minutes to 20 minutes.
