Recently, the last karst pile foundation of the double-track grand bridge at Xiangyang East Station on Section 1 of the Xiangyang-Jingmen Railway, constructed by China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group, was successfully poured, marking the completion of all pile foundation construction in the section and laying a solid foundation for accelerating subsequent works. At the same time, the **main tower of the Yicheng Hanjiang River Grand Bridge on the Xiangyang-Jingmen Railway in this section was successfully capped, achieving a breakthrough in the project construction.
The main line bridge of the double-track grand bridge at Xiangyang East Station on the Xiangyang-Jingmen Railway is about 1,907.88 meters long, with a total of 432 pile foundations. It is located in an area with strongly developed karst, complex geological conditions, and difficult pile formation. According to the on-site pile foundation construction technicians, during construction, especially after this year's Spring Festival, the project department increased investment in various large rotary drilling rigs, adopted multiple full-casing full-slewing drilling rigs, introduced the largest domestic XG800 rotary drilling rig, and for the first time used the roller-cone water drilling process in rotary drilling rigs. At the same time, in combination with the complex geology, construction techniques such as grouting and steel casing follow-up were adopted, successfully overcoming the adverse effects brought by various strata such as high rock hardness, quicksand layers, and bead-like karst caves. The bridge is expected to be completed and opened to traffic by the end of September.
The Xiangyang-Jingmen Railway starts from Xiangyang East Station in the north, passes through Yicheng City to Jingmen City, and shares Jingmen West Station with the under-construction high-speed railway along the Yangtze River. It is an important part of the "Hunan-Nanning Corridor," one of the main corridors of the national "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network. The project has a total length of 116.73 kilometers and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. Once completed, it will further improve the high-speed railway network along the Yangtze River, promote the construction of the ecological tourism circle in western Hubei, and achieve rapid connectivity between the "Yichang-Jingzhou-Jingmen" metropolitan area and the Xiangyang metropolitan area.
