On the 10th, torrential rain poured down, and Tuanbaoliang Village in Luowen Town, Wanyuan, staged a thrilling battle to protect lives. The village's deputy director Chen Bangfu and the village supervisory committee director Tian Kun carried out inspections at the foot and on top of the mountain in Jiefangwan Group respectively, and found no signs of danger.

Qiu Yan, secretary of the Luowen Town Party Committee, said that because of several consecutive days of heavy rain, the town had been conducting 24-hour strict monitoring of geological hazard sites with potential safety risks within its jurisdiction. Monitoring analysis showed that the site where the landslide occurred this time had potential safety hazards.

"For the safety of everyone's lives and property! Everyone evacuate immediately!" To guard against any eventuality, after discussion, Luowen Town and village officials decided to evacuate the residents. Town and village Party members, officials, and volunteers raced against time to organize the villagers' emergency evacuation, and all 34 people from 22 households were evacuated.

"All 34 people were relocated to a villagers' settlement in a safe area of the same village. Since most of those at home were elderly, medical personnel were specially arranged to check the health of the elderly after the evacuation," Qiu Yan said. This was a case of officials and the public working together for early warning and successful avoidance of danger.

After the non-geological-hazard landslide occurred on the 11th, the Party and government leaders of Luowen Town led village officials to place warning signs around the landslide body and at the entrances to dangerous road sections to prevent people from entering dangerous areas. At the same time, while ensuring safety, they promptly cleared the mud, sand, and bricks that had collapsed onto the village road, provided living supplies and temporary shelter for the affected residents, soothed their emotions, and ensured their normal production and living conditions.
