On July 7, Xinxin Expressway held the 2024 emergency rescue drill for sudden electric shock accidents and the breakthrough ceremony for the left tube of Xianrenqiao Tunnel.

Peng Tao announced the breakthrough of the left tube of Xianrenqiao Tunnel and required the project department to always prioritize safety and ecological environmental protection, strictly implement the work safety responsibility system, strengthen safety management at the construction site, and regularly carry out the investigation and rectification of safety hazards to ensure personnel safety and equipment integrity; it must adhere to the concept of green development, strictly comply with laws and regulations on ecological environmental protection, and ensure the green and sustainable development of the project.

It is understood that Xianrenqiao Tunnel is located in Shuiche Town, Xinhua County. It is a dual-tube, four-lane tunnel and the longest tunnel and controlling project of Xinxin Expressway. The left tube is 2,858 meters long, and the right tube is 2,845 meters long. It is designed as a separated tunnel with left and right tubes. The tunnel features developed faults and folds, complex engineering geological and hydrogeological conditions, and passes through a total of six fault fracture zones.

Since construction began in July 2022, the contractor has consistently adhered to the philosophy of "safety first, quality foremost," organized scientifically, and constructed meticulously. By adopting advanced tunnel boring technology and a strict construction management system, it overcame unfavorable factors such as the changeable climate, complex terrain, inconvenient transportation, and poor surrounding rock geological conditions in the hilly and mountainous areas. After more than 700 days and nights of hard work, the left tube achieved a smooth and precise breakthrough, marking major progress in the construction schedule of the Xinxin Expressway project. On the same day, an emergency rescue drill for sudden electric shock accidents was also held.
