On July 1, the right line of the section from the Airport Work Area Station to the Aviation Industrial Park Station of Hefei Xinqiao Airport Line S1 was successfully holed through, making it the 8th single-line section to achieve breakthrough along the entire line and also the longest section in the history of Hefei rail transit construction.

The right line of the "Airport-Aviation" section has a total length of 3.2 kilometers and includes one intermediate ventilation shaft. A total of four shield tunneling machines were deployed, launching from both ends in opposite directions and all being received at the section ventilation shaft. During the tunneling process, the section successively crossed multiple risk sources, including the pile foundations of the airport cargo warehouse complex building, aviation fuel pipelines, and the flight control area of Hefei Xinqiao Airport, posing great construction difficulties.

To ensure the smooth breakthrough of the section, Hefei Rail Transit led the participating construction units in conducting special scheme demonstrations for each risk in the section and adopting targeted measures. During tunneling, tunneling parameters were strictly controlled, grout quality was managed, and secondary and multiple grouting were reasonably applied to control segment uplift and reduce construction risks. Automated monitoring technology was also adopted for risk sources, and tunneling parameters were optimized and adjusted in real time based on monitoring data, successfully achieving the breakthrough of the section.
