Recently, the Changqingli Tunnel of Section 18 of the Guangzhou-Zhanjiang Railway was successfully holed through, marking another breakthrough in the construction of the Guangzhou-Zhanjiang Railway and laying a solid foundation for the full completion and opening of the railway to traffic.

The Changqingli Tunnel is located near Changqingli Village, Dongcheng Town, Xinxing County, Yunfu City, Guangdong Province. It is a single-tube double-track tunnel with a total length of 370 meters, and the entire tunnel lies in Grade V surrounding rock. The contractor adopted technical assurance measures such as advanced geological forecasting and monitoring and measurement, strictly controlled the timing of process interfaces, continuously optimized the combination of processes, and advanced parallel operation of various processes, thereby achieving the smooth holing-through of the Changqingli Tunnel with high quality and high standards on the basis of fully ensuring safety and quality.

It is reported that the Guangzhou-Zhanjiang Railway is an important component of the national "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network and of the 350 km/h coastal railway passenger transport corridor. After completion and opening to traffic, the Guangzhou-Zhanjiang Railway will become an important component of the high-speed railway corridor connecting the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Hainan Free Trade Port, and the Beibu Gulf urban agglomeration, and is of great significance for enhancing the regional economic status of western Guangdong and promoting the overall economic and social development of western Guangdong.
