On July 1, according to the official Weibo of Xi'an Rail Transit Group Co., Ltd., at around 23:00 on June 30, sudden water and sand inrush occurred during the construction of the connecting passage between Kaiyuanmen Station and Tumen Station on the under-construction Xi'an Metro Line 8 Loop Line, and the on-site construction unit carried out emergency rescue and disposal in a timely manner.

At around 4:00 a.m. on July 1, settlement was monitored on the road surface at the site; at 5:50, the traffic police department was requested to impose temporary traffic control on the section; at around 8:00, part of the road surface in the area collapsed.

At present, the relevant property rights units of tap water and natural gas have arrived at the site and shut down the equipment, and there are no casualties at the site. The specific cause is under further investigation.
