Mud Pump Maintenance and Servicing

The mud pump adopts a high-performance frequency converter and is important process equipment. Whether the pile foundation project can be completed safely, on time, and efficiently depends greatly on its regular maintenance and servicing.

Maintenance and servicing of the mud pump: correct maintenance and use of the mud pump improve drilling speed and pure drilling time and keep the hole clean. To protect the service life and normal operation of the mud pump, care must begin with packaging, transport, and storage and continue through installation, use, and maintenance.

Common Mud Pump Fault Types and Solutions

No slurry suction

Cause: insufficient priming water, air in the suction pipe cannot be discharged, air leakage in the suction pipe, damage to the valve seat, valve plate, or spring in the pump head inlet, or foreign matter between the valve seat and valve plate.

Solution: fill the pipe with water, replace the suction pipe, replace the valve seat, valve plate, and spring, and remove foreign matter from the valve seat and valve plate.

Pressure gauge does not build pressure

Cause: the valve seat and valve plate are not closed, the nozzle or drilling tool has fallen off, hydraulic oil is missing below the pressure gauge, or the pressure piston is stuck.

Solution: inspect and replace the tripod valve seat and valve plate, inspect and replace the nozzle or drilling tool, replenish hydraulic oil, clean foreign matter from the piston cylinder, and replace the seal.

Slurry pump vibration

Cause: belt slippage, uneven ground. Solution: tighten the belt, level the ground, and press the pump base flat.

Rapid plunger wear

Cause: poor lubrication, plunger not concentric. Solution: inspect the lubrication line and replace the guide belt.

Rapid seal wear

Cause: plunger not concentric, incorrect seal installation, insufficient lubrication. Solution: replace the guide belt, install the seal correctly, and inspect the lubrication line.
