The first diaphragm wall at Jinwen Road Station of the eastern extension of Phase I of Rail Transit Line 21 was successfully constructed, marking that Jinwen Road Station has fully entered the construction stage of the main retaining structure, and laying a solid foundation for the subsequent construction of the entire eastern extension project of Line 21.
The eastern extension of Phase I of Rail Transit Line 21 starts at Terminal 3 of the Pudong Comprehensive Transportation Hub and ends at Liuchen Road Station, which is under construction as part of Phase I of Line 21. The line has a total length of approximately 14.07 kilometers, all laid underground, with 5 stations including Shixin Road Station, Wenju Road Station, Jinwen Road Station, Shanghai East Railway Station, and Terminal 3 Station (all station names are provisional).
The eastern extension of Line 21 can interchange with the Rail Transit Airport Link Line, the Nanhui Branch Line, and other lines, making it convenient for passengers to transfer to national railway lines such as the Shanghai-Suzhou-Nantong Railway, and helping to strengthen the transportation distribution function of the Oriental Hub.
