On the 26th, after 17 hours of round-the-clock effort, with the smooth pouring and injection of the final cubic meter of concrete, the **0# block of the continuous girder of the Fanhui Station No. 2 six-track extra-large bridge** in Section 4 of the pre-station works of the Kangyu segment of the Xi'an-Chongqing High-Speed Railway, constructed by China Railway Sixth Group, was completed. This marks the "** step" in girder construction and signifies that the section has officially entered the superstructure construction stage of the high-speed railway.

Construction site of the in-water pier of Fanhui Station No. 2 Bridge.

At the construction site of Project II in Bixi Village, Tuhuang Town, Xuanhan County, Dazhou City, two concrete pump trucks were operating intensively, with each truckload of concrete being conveyed into the formwork through the pump truck's "mechanical arm," while nearby construction management personnel kept constant watch on the pouring progress. According to Huo Jiangfeng, chief engineer of the Section 4 pre-station project, the Fanhui Station No. 2 six-track extra-large bridge, whose **0# block of the continuous girder was poured this time**, has a total length of 1,207.3 meters and a designed 537 piles, and is a demonstration section of quality works for the section. The 0# block of Pier 14 poured this time is 12 meters long, 25.6 meters wide at the top, and 4.32 meters high, with 108.89 tons of rebar, designed with C50-strength concrete and a total volume of 580.03 cubic meters, poured in a single continuous operation. The "0# block," as the first unit poured during segmental construction of a long-span continuous girder bridge, is located atop the main pier and is the **first block** extending from the pier column to both sides, and is also a key node in continuous girder construction.

The smooth pouring of the **0# block of the continuous girder** not only marks a major milestone schedule achievement in bridge construction for Section 4 of the pre-station works of the Kangyu segment of the Xi'an-Chongqing High-Speed Railway by China Railway Sixth Group, but also lays a solid foundation for the successful completion of the 9 continuous girder constructions in this section in the future.

The "0# block" poured this time is a four-track continuous girder. A four-track continuous girder is a special bridge structure mainly used in railway bridge construction; it can support four railway tracks running in parallel, that is, it can accommodate four railway lines passing through simultaneously, thereby improving railway transport capacity.

The Xi'an-Chongqing High-Speed Railway is an important component of the Baotou (Yinchuan)-Haikou corridor and the Beijing-Kunming corridor among the "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway corridors in the national medium- and long-term railway network plan. It has a total length of 739 kilometers and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It is an important high-speed railway corridor connecting the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle with the Silk Road Economic Belt and linking to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development area, and is also an important part of the high-speed railway network layout. Its completion will positively promote the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and provide strong support for the large-scale development of the western region and coordinated regional development.
