On June 25, the domestically produced super-large-diameter slurry shield machine "Jingtong Hao," with an excavation diameter of 13.3 meters, successfully completed all tunneling tasks for the Yunchaojianhe Tunnel on the Beijing-Tangshan Intercity Railway, marking the smooth breakthrough of the "last mile" tunnel of the Beijing-Tangshan Intercity Railway and laying a solid foundation for the opening and operation of the entire line.

The Beijing-Tangshan Intercity Railway is a significant intercity high-speed railway serving the Bohai Rim and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. It starts at the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center Station and ends at Tangshan Station in Tangshan City, Hebei Province, with a total of 8 stations along the line and a length of 148.7 kilometers.

The Yunchaojianhe Tunnel on the Beijing-Tangshan Intercity Railway, constructed by China Railway 14th Bureau Group, is 1,285 meters long and is a key control project for the full breakthrough of the Beijing-Tangshan Intercity Railway. During construction, the "Jingtong Hao" shield machine passed through highly dense medium sand strata, with the closest horizontal distance to the Beijing-Harbin Railway line being only 19 meters, presenting extremely high construction difficulty and technical requirements.

In response to a series of difficulties and risks, the project team used BeiDou satellite positioning technology for subgrade safety monitoring and strictly controlled the working radius and positioning of on-site construction equipment to ensure no impact on existing lines; used a digital intelligent command center to guide the precise and stable advancement of the shield machine, with errors controlled at the millimeter level; and customized the design of the shield machine to enable one-time tunneling of the entire tunnel without tool replacement, reducing stratum disturbance and ensuring the smooth implementation of the tunnel section of the Beijing-Tangshan Intercity Railway according to the established goal of full-line breakthrough.

It is reported that the Beijing-Tangshan Intercity Railway is of great significance for implementing the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy, enhancing the overall regional economic competitiveness, and improving the layout of the national trunk high-speed passenger transport network.
