The reporter learned from China Railway Shanghai Group Co., Ltd. that at 14:20 on June 25, at the construction site of Bengbu North Grand Bridge in Caolaoji Town, Huaishang District, Bengbu City, an SPJ900 bridge erection machine steadily placed the last nearly 800-ton precast simply supported box girder onto the pier bearings, marking the successful completion of girder erection for the Bengbu North Grand Bridge of the Huaibei-Suzhou-Bengbu Intercity Railway across the Beijing-Shanghai Railway, and laying a solid foundation for the subsequent erection of simply supported box girders and ballastless track construction in this construction section.

　　The Bengbu North Grand Bridge is a key and difficult project of the Huaibei-Suzhou-Bengbu Intercity Railway, with a total bridge length of 23.4 kilometers. At portal piers No. 587 to 588, five simply supported box girders were erected to cross the up and down lines of the Beijing-Shanghai Railway, including three girders above the line and two adjacent to the operating line at both ends. The erected simply supported box girders are 32.6 meters long, 12.6 meters wide and 3.052 meters high, weighing more than 790 tons. Since early April this year, the construction team has successively used 18 skylight windows to complete a series of construction tasks, including the hoisting of two steel bent caps, the passage of the bridge erection machine, the erection of five simply supported box girders and the installation of bridge deck systems.

　　The Huaibei-Suzhou-Bengbu Intercity Railway is located in northern Anhui Province. The line starts from Huaibei North Station on the Huaibei-Xiaoxian connecting line, runs southward through the three cities of Huaibei, Suzhou and Bengbu, and ends at Bengbu South Station, a station shared by the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway and the Hefei-Bengbu High-Speed Railway. The main line is about 161 kilometers long, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. Six stations are set along the line: Huaibei North, Huaibei West, Suzhou West, Shuangduiji, Guzhen South and Bengbu South, among which Huaibei North Station and Bengbu South Station are existing stations.

　　The Huaibei-Suzhou-Bengbu Intercity Railway is a high-speed railway that mainly serves regional intercity functions while also taking into account network functions. Its northern end connects to the Zhengzhou-Xuzhou High-Speed Railway through the Huaibei-Xiaoxian connecting line, and its southern end connects to the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway and the Hefei-Bengbu High-Speed Railway. After the Huaibei-Suzhou-Bengbu Intercity Railway is completed and put into operation, it will become a convenient channel connecting the urban agglomeration of northern Anhui with the Hefei metropolitan area and the Yangtze River Delta region, and is of great significance for improving the regional intercity rapid railway network, closely linking the urban agglomeration of northern Anhui with the Hefei metropolitan area, and promoting the coordinated development of the regional economy.
