The Chongming District Information Office announced that on June 25, with the pouring of the final truckload of concrete, the pile cap for Pier 525 of the Chongming Grand Bridge on the North Yanjiang High-Speed Railway was completed, marking the completion of all pile caps for the Jiangsu section of the Chongming Grand Bridge in Section V (pre-station) of the Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei High-Speed Railway's Shanghai-Nanjing segment. The Chongming Grand Bridge is a key project of Section V (pre-station) of the Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei High-Speed Railway's Shanghai-Nanjing segment. The main line has a total length of 19.072 km and consists of 24m/32m span precast simply supported girder bridges, 577 precast box girders, a Chongming Station built to the standard of 2 platforms and 6 tracks, and 10 large-span node bridges crossing roads and rivers.

The construction red line of the Chongming Grand Bridge spans both Chongming District in Shanghai and Qidong City in Jiangsu. The Chongming Grand Bridge (Sub-section 1) has 2,141 bored piles and 259 pile caps and pier shafts. Among these, the Jiangsu section has 376 bored piles, all 376 of which have been completed, accounting for 100%; and 45 pile caps and pier shafts, of which 45 pile caps have been completed, accounting for 100%, and 44 pier shafts have been completed, accounting for 97.7%.

The Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei High-Speed Railway is the eastern segment of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High-Speed Railway and an important component of the Yangtze River high-speed railway corridor in the national "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network. It will handle the main network passenger flows of the Yangtze River corridor as well as part of the direct passenger flows to Shanghai from the coastal and Beijing-Shanghai corridors. Once completed, the project will establish a new rapid corridor among the Shanghai metropolitan area, the Nanjing metropolitan area, and the Hefei metropolitan area, which is of great significance for optimizing the railway network layout in the Yangtze River region, supporting the coordinated development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and promoting high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
