Taking the Wuhan Housing and Urban Renewal Bureau as an example, its official website introduction states that the bureau implements the guidelines, policies and decisions of the Party Central Committee on housing security and housing management, municipal infrastructure construction, urban renewal and other work, integrates the upholding and strengthening of the Party Central Committee's centralized and unified leadership over housing security and housing management, municipal infrastructure construction, urban renewal and other work into the process of performing its duties, and implements the work requirements of the municipal Party committee and municipal government.

According to a previous report by Hubei Daily, on June 18, Wang Menghui, Secretary of the Hubei Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, presided over a special meeting of the provincial Party committee to hear reports on the progress of urban renewal in Wuhan City, Yichang City and Huangshi City, and to study and deploy the next key tasks.

The meeting emphasized that the renovation of dilapidated old housing should be taken as the core content of advancing urban renewal, new models for promoting the renovation of dilapidated old housing through market-based methods should be explored, efforts should be focused on solving prominent problems such as dilapidated old urban housing being "unsafe, not self-contained, lacking supporting facilities, and incomplete," and the housing conditions and living environment of the people should be continuously improved. It is necessary to adapt to the shift in the people's demands for housing from "whether they have housing" to "whether the housing is good," explore the building of community service supply chain platforms, promote work such as installing elevators in existing residential buildings and age-friendly renovation, and form a long-term mechanism for serving the people. It is necessary to accelerate the advancement of in-situ urbanization with county towns as the carrier, formulate and improve green and low-carbon construction standards for county towns, enhance the quality of county town construction and the level of public services, and create conditions for returning migrant workers and farmers entering cities to first "settle down" and then "enjoy their work."
