In order to commend young scientific and technological talents who have made outstanding contributions to national economic development, social progress, and scientific and technological innovation, and to stimulate the innovative enthusiasm of young scientific and technological workers in the field of green mining, the Zhongguancun Green Mine Industry Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the Green Mine Alliance) is organizing the application and selection work for the 2024 Green Mine Youth Science and Technology Award (National Awards Office registration number 0265). To ensure the proper organization, recommendation, and selection of this award, the relevant matters are hereby notified as follows.

I. Application Requirements

Young scientific and technological personnel who implement the Party's line, principles, and policies, love the motherland and the cause of science, possess the scientific ethics and academic style of "dedication, innovation, truth-seeking, and collaboration," and have achieved one of the following outstanding contributions in their professional work:

1. Have proposed new ideas and insights in their professional field, with results published and recognized as reaching international or domestic advanced levels;

2. Have been courageous in innovation in scientific and technological practice, made important contributions, and achieved significant economic or social benefits;

3. Have achieved remarkable results in disseminating scientific and technological knowledge and promoting new technologies, made outstanding achievements, and obtained good social or economic benefits;

4. Particularly outstanding winners of the Green Mine Youth Award will be recommended by the review expert committee for inclusion in the "Green Mine Outstanding Youth" list (no more than 10 people).

II. Recommendation Conditions

Recommended young talents must simultaneously meet the following conditions:

1. Uphold the scientific spirit, abide by scientific ethics, and maintain integrity;

2. Generally no older than 40 years of age; the age limit may be appropriately relaxed to 45 for female researchers.

III. Recommendation Channels and Quota Allocation

1. Government agencies, public institutions, institutions of higher education, research institutes, mining groups, societies, and associations may each recommend 1 person;

2. Vice-chairman units and standing council units may each recommend 1 person;

3. Two experts jointly, including Green Mine® Think Tank experts, Technical Committee members, Green Mine® Youth Think Tank experts, special science and technology commissioners, Ecological Restoration Expert Committee members, and Standards Conference Expert Committee members, may recommend 1 person;

4. The quota allocation for universities, research institutes, enterprises, members, and special science and technology commissioners shall be determined by the Green Mine Alliance Technical Committee.

IV. Support Measures

1. Eligible young scientific and technological talents may apply to join the Green Mine Alliance Innovation Team and participate in project cooperation. The Green Mine Alliance will give key support to selected candidates in terms of undertaking research tasks, providing guarantee conditions, and increasing incentives;

2. The Green Mine Alliance will organize selected young scientific and technological talents to carry out cross-disciplinary academic exchanges, joint research, professional training, and activities to connect with local industrial technology needs, and will strengthen publicity of talents' outstanding achievements and exemplary deeds;

3. The Green Mine Alliance may recommend selected young scientific and technological talents for youth science and technology talent award selections of other societies.

V. Application Process and Relevant Requirements

1. Individual applicants may only be recommended through one channel;

2. Application materials shall be reviewed and sealed (signed) by the recommending unit or individual and then submitted to the Secretariat of the Green Mine Alliance. Those without seals (signatures) will be disqualified from review;

3. The deadline for submitting materials is 17:00 on August 10, 2024. Late submissions will not be accepted. After acceptance, the Green Mine Alliance will organize an expert panel to carry out the review work, and the review results will be publicly announced on the Green Mine Alliance website and the "Green Mine Research and Practice" WeChat official account;

4. The application materials for the Green Mine Youth Science and Technology Award must include the following:

(1) Paper materials:

Three copies of the "Green Mine Youth Science and Technology Award Application Form" (see attachment). The application form and attachments are required to be bound together as a volume, including the application form, supporting proof materials, and the unit or expert recommendation form;

Paper materials shall be mailed according to the recipient's contact information. Once received, application materials will not be returned.

(2) Electronic materials:

a. Electronic versions of the "Green Mine Youth Science and Technology Award Application Form" and supporting proof materials;

b. One bareheaded 2-inch ID photo (white background) or work photo of the individual;

c. A brief introduction to the applicant's deeds, limited to 500 words.

The above electronic materials shall be sent to the contact person's email address, with the file named "2024 Green Mine Youth Science and Technology Award Application + Name + Unit"; otherwise, they will not be accepted.
