The reporter learned from the 2024 National Conference on Promoting Experience in Deepening Medical Reform that, as of now, China has orderly advanced the implementation of 13 categories of national medical centers and 125 national regional medical center construction projects, basically covering provinces with weak medical resources.

　　Promoting the goal that "serious and major illnesses can be resolved within the province, general illnesses in cities and counties, and headaches and minor ailments in townships and villages" is an important objective of deepening medical reform. In recent years, the National Health Commission, together with relevant departments, has focused on improving medical standards at the prefecture and county levels and enhancing primary-level medical service capacity, with more than 75% of township health centers and community health service centers reaching basic standards.

　　The National Health Commission stated that it is necessary to research and advance medical reform around the pain points, difficulties, and bottlenecks in public medical treatment, and to continuously promote high-quality development of the health sector to better benefit people's livelihoods by improving systems, perfecting mechanisms, stimulating vitality, and adding momentum. At the same time, it is necessary to deeply advance the coordinated development and governance of medical care, medical insurance, and pharmaceuticals, give play to the leading and driving role of various pilot demonstrations, and promote the precise implementation and precise landing of various medical reform measures.
